Stanbic Holdings bank Plc has appointed a seasoned banker, Mr Patrick Mweheire as its Chief Executive and Ms. Ory A. Okolloh as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
Mweheire replaces Mr. Gregory Robert Brankenridge who has retired. He was the immediate former chief executive of Stanbic Bank Uganda.
Brankenridge was appointed CEO on 28 July 2016. Until his retirement, he served as the Regional Chief Executive, East Africa, for Standard Bank Group responsible for operations in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, and Ethiopia.
Mweheire, a seasoned banker with over 25 years of diverse global banking experience will also serve as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Stanbic Bank Kenya Limited.
“We look forward to his contribution as we increasingly connect with our customers and continue to do the right business the right way,” said Lilian Mbindyo, the Company Secretary on behalf of the Board.
He holds an MBA from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Business Administration.
On the other hand, Ms. Okolloh is the Managing Director of Omidyar Network, which focused on philanthropic impact.
She possesses strong technological and legal exposure, with extensive board experience and the ability to create new partnerships with positive impacts.
“Ms. Okolloh’s skills and knowledge will enhance the diversity on the two Boards and is in line with the Bank’s digital transformation strategy,” said the Board of Directors.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Political Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.
