PayTV entertainment company, MultiChoice, has announced a pop-up channel featuring films from East Africa dubbed East Africa Movie Fest available on DStv Channel 197 between 10 December and 03 February 2019 to DStv subscribers on Compact, Compact Plus and Premium.
The channel will show films from the Maisha Magic Bongo, Maisha Magic East and Pearl Magic Uganda channels.
Top Kenyan productions include ‘Stella’, a film about a spoilt teenager who has everything she wants until an unfortunate twist of events deters her ambition. Unable to cope, she moves to the village to live with her aunt where she must learn about hard work and family to survive. ‘Stella’ will premier on 19 December at 16:00 hrs.
‘Uriah’, produced by leading Kenyan film producer Likarion Wainania, is a story about a young witty man named Oscar who will do anything to get the woman of his dreams, Uriah. He plans a series of pranks to get her attention, but his ex-girlfriend will not make things easy as she is still in love with Oscar. ‘Uriah’ airs on 20 December at 21:35 hrs.
‘Flowers and Bricks’ concerns Job, a poor but honest foreman trying to build his small house on a plot outside town, who becomes entangled with chaotic banks, bureaucratic government agencies, evil brokers and crooked contractors, while at the same time his matrimonial bed has extra visitors. ‘Flowers and Bricks’ will air on 15 January 2019 at 20:30 hrs.
‘Playboy’ is a Kenyan drama telling the story of Rikki, every girl’s dream boy, and the ultimate bachelor. He finds himself in an emotional journey with a young girl who teaches him life’s most valuable lessons about love, his daughter. ‘Playboy’ will air on 14 January 2019 at 19.00hrs.
