Popular Kenyan radio presenter, media personality, and social activist, Adelle Onyango has called it quits at Kiss 100 after seven years of service.

According to her, she needs a new challenge.

“After 7 years on Kiss, I need a new challenge. Change is the only constant thing in life, and it is through endings that we begin anew. In leaving Kiss I have a whole lot of thoughts, ” wrote Adelle on her Instagram feed after hosting her last breakfast radio show on Friday, June 7.

“It has been a decision that I did not come to lightly. After 7 years on Kiss, I need a new challenge…it is through endings that we begin anew,” said Adelle.

To her co-workers, she said ‘Thank You’.

“As for the future, I say CHEERS… Here’s to everyone starting a new, here’s to everyone believing, here’s to everyone evolving, here’s to everyone who wants to make a difference, here’s to the unknown, here’s to the darkness and the light, here’s to forgiveness and all that we fight, here’s to the stories that no one knows, here’s to the endings and all the foes, ” Adelle wrote.

Here’s to everyone starting a new, ⁣
here’s to everyone believing, ⁣
here’s to everyone evolving, ⁣
here’s to everyone who wants to make a difference,

here’s to the unknown, ⁣
here’s to the darkness and the light, here’s to forgiveness and all that we fight…

here’s to the stories that no one knows, ⁣
here’s to the endings and all the foes. ⁣

To those that gave us opportunity we say thank you, to those that grew us we say we love you, to those that believed in us, we say keep believing, to those that root for us, keep rooting.

And to those that are us, to those staring a new, and taking a chance on themselves we say:⁣

“Out of the night that covers me, ⁣
Black as the pit from pole to pole, ⁣
I thank whatever gods may be ⁣
For my unconquerable soul. ⁣
Beyond this place of wrath and tears…

…It matters not how strait the gate, ⁣
How charged with punishments the scroll, ⁣
I am the master of my fate, ⁣
I am the captain of my soul.”⁣

Love you!

In fact, a few of the participants in our job shadow program even got employed in the organizations they were posted in! ⁣Soon we launch a new partnership ⁣⁣ that’ll see those outside Nairobi⁣⁣ gain access to a brilliant opportunity!⁣⁣ she announced in May.

Adelle has received numerous accolades among them the BBC 100 women in 2017.

In 2018, she was nominated as one of OkayAfrica100 Women in the media category. The campaign celebrates extraordinary women from Africa and the diaspora making waves across a wide array of industries while driving positive impact in their communities and the world at large.
