King Kaka hosted an online live concert on Friday that entertained fans for three hours.
The show started on Friday at 8 pm and ran until minutes after 11pm with fans watching the Kennedy Ombima alias King Kaka.
The show was held at Workspace, Muthagari Road in Nairobi and attracted thousands of viewers online. King Kaka was accompanied by a full band on stage.
This was the first in a series of six arranged online shows sponsored by Safaricom, Safaricom, DStv, Showmax, Workstyle and Remy Martin.
Trace had unveiled their entertainment calendar with Trace in the Streets live events. They had planned to host King Kaka alongside Sauti Sol at Sarit Centre but this was cancelled after the Kenyan Government banned public gatherings due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement, Trace Eastern Africa C.E.O Danny Mucira said “The Trace Live Online series seeks to empower local artistes during this Covid-19 period, ensuring they continue to earn and produce more entertainment for viewers at home. This will augment the social distancing guidelines given by the government to reduce the spread of Covid-19 in the country.”
The online shows are more interactive and engaging as the fans are involved in the concert through making requests and sending shout-outs.
Artistes and musicians with big following on social media pages are set to benefit from the project as their shows will be hinged on the ‘attendance’ of those that follow them on the social media pages.
Other artistes such as Khaligraph Jones, Evelyn Wanjiru, Mercy Masika, Naiboi among others have been slotted to headline the next shows which will be streaming live via YouTube and Facelive digital spaces of the showbiz company Trace.
