BOC Kenya on Wednesday said its Finance Director Mr Arthur Kamau will take on the role of Managing Director to the company’s board in an acting capacity.

The Company said Ms Gathoga-Mwangi,  has tendered her resignation as the MD  effective 31 December 2021 to take up an executive role with another Linde Company, Africa Oxygen limited as Director Healthcare Business, according to a regulatory filing.

However, she will remain on the Board as a Non-Executive Director.

Mr Kamau has extensive experience in financial management and served in various senior management roles over the last eleven years in the manufacturing industry including Finance Director for Diversey Eastern and Central Africa Limited. 

Arthur is a graduate of Economics and Business Studies from Kenyatta University. He trained as an accountant with KPMG Kenya.

Gathoga Mwangi was appointed MD in 2018 and the board says under her leadership, the company witnessed the introduction of a ca-do culture to drive a sustainable turnaround strategy change management that reflects customer needs.

During her tenure, the company’s governance structure increased and the establishment of a strong healthcare business.

She joined  BOC from the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) where she held the position of Head of ACCA. 

Ms Gathoga-Mwangi holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in International Business Administration from the United States International University (USIU) Kenya. She is an associate member of Women Corporate Directors, Kenya Chapter and Women on Boards Network (WoBN)
