• Liverpool put Porto to the sword putting five goals past the Portuguese side
  • Sadio Mane got one goal as Mohammed Salah and Roberto Firmino each got a brace to seal the victory

Liverpool put five goals past FC Porto as the Reds marched to a comfortable 5-1 victory.

The home side began brightly in this encounter, but for all their good work early on, they found themselves trailing to an inevitable Salah goal. Curtis Jones found himself in shooting range, and Diogo Costa could only parry to Liverpool’s Egyptian winger, who easily tapped into an open net.

The ‘Reds’ were in cruise control at the Estádio do Dragão as Sadio Mane got the second match of the night with a tapping in from close range.

Mohamed Salah added a third, coolly slotting home after further neat build-up play from Jones.

Mehdi Taremi gave Porto some hope when he headed in to bring it back to 3-1, but any chance of that was killed off when Roberto Firmino came off the bench to grab two late goals for himself.

The win puts Liverpool in a commanding position on six points in Group B, and extends their unbeaten run to eighteen matches in all competitions.
