Jesse Lingard netted a late winner for Manchester United against West Ham in the London Stadium.

Lingard, who enjoyed a stellar loan period with the Hammers, came off the bench to grab a late winner for Ole Gunna Solkjaer’s side.

Said Benrahma put the hosts ahead in the 30th minute before Cristiano Ronaldo drew level for the Red Devils.

Both sides pushed for a winner in the second half with Ronaldo having two penalty shouts dismissed by referee Martin Atkinson.

Lingard came off the bench late in the game and hit the roof with a spectacular strike that left the Hammers’ hearts shuddered.

West Ham got a chance to earn a point when a VAR review showed Luke Shaw had handled the ball in the area.

Manager David Moyes immediately sent on club skipper Mark Noble from the bench to take the resultant penalty which De Gea dived superbly and parried it away.

The win leaves United level with Liverpool at the top of the table.
