  • An own-goal by Tim Krul set the hosts off to a comfortable afternoon with Gabriel Jesus getting a hattrick of assists

Premier League record signing Jack Grealish scores as Manchester City put five goals past Norwich at the Etihad Stadium.

The hosts found the back of the net early in the first half as Grant Hanley’s attempted clearance hit Tim Krul and opened the scoring.

Ferran Torres had his effort ruled out by VAR for a foul by Bernardo Silva in the buildup minutes before Grealish got his first goal in City colors.

Pep Guardiola’s side came into the second-half looking for more goals and got a third thanks to Aymeric Laporte who calmly slotted home in the 64th minute after the Canaries failed to clear the ball.

Substitute Raheem Sterling added the fourth, tapping home from a low cross by Gabriel Jesus before fellow substitute Riyad Mahrez made it five with a cool finish into the bottom corner.

Earlier on, goals from Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane gave Liverpool a 2-0 win over Burnley at Anfield.

Elsewhere, Leeds came back twice from behind to earn a point against Everton at Elland Road. Calvert-Lewin put the Toffees ahead from the spot in the first half before Mateusz Klich drew Leeds level.

Demarai Gray opened his goal account for Rafael Benitez’s side in the second half before Leeds’ Brazilian forward Rapinha sent in a rocket-shot from the edge of the area to earn Marcelo Biesla’s side a hard-earned point.

Aston Villa beat Newcastle 2-0 at Villa Park while Crystal Palace played to a barren draw with newly-promoted side Brentford.
