Tournament favorites Belgium beat defending champions Portugal 1-0 to proceed to the quarter finals.
Thorgan Hazard scored a splendid goal in first half to give the Red Devils a hard-fought win over Portugal.
Both teams enjoyed control in the match as both tried to break the deadlock in first half. With minutes away from the break, Thorgan Hazard received a pass just outside the box and unleashed a fierce shot that flew past Rui Patricio.
In the second half, Portugal grew more into the game but could not find the equalizer as Belgium’s back-line remained strong as Thibaut Courtois being called to parry off a series of attempts.
Robert Martinez’s side now head to the quarter finals where they will take on Italy in Munich on Friday evening.
