Mr John Bosco Kalisa, an economist has been appointed as the East African Business Council (EABC)’s new Executive Director.  

 As the new Executive Director, he will lead spearhead resource mobilization and high-level advocacy at the Heads of State and Ministerial level to push forward the EABC’s purpose and vision of a borderless East Africa for increased business and investment. 

 Kalisa takes over from  Dr Peter Mathuki following his appointment as the Secretary-General of the East African Community by the 21st EAC Heads of States.

Prior to this appointment, Mr John Bosco Kalisa served as the Country Director of South Sudan for TradeMark East Africa (TMEA).

Mr Kalisa has extensive knowledge in global trade negotiations and deep networks with international development partners including USAID, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) African Development Bank and World Bank, Trademark East Africa, among others.

He also has a good rapport and network with the Government and industry captains in East Africa and beyond having previously worked with the Rwanda Private Sector Federation (PSF-Rwanda) and Rwanda Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning.

Khusoko provides market insights into Africa's business investment as well as global trends that impact East African businesses.
