• Belgium rally from a goal down to beat spirited Denmark 2-1
  • Denmark took the lead in the opening minutes of the first half through Yussuf Poulsen
  • Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne came from the bench to assist Thorgan Hazard and score late in the match

Kevin De Bruyne comes from the bench to inspire Belgium to a sensational comeback over Denmark.

The Red Devils fell behind in the opening minutes after Belgian defender Jason Denayer made a horrendous error of judgement and gave the ball straight to opposing midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg. The Tottenham man played in Yussuf Poulsen to give Denmark the lead with a clinical finish.

Both teams paused in the tenth minute to pay tribute to Christian Eriksen, who continues his recovery from a cardiac arrest suffered in Denmark’s 1-0 defeat to Finland.

Manager Roberto Martinez made a change at halftime bringing De Bruyne in place of Dries Mertens. The substitution paid off as ten minutes into the half the attacking midfielder superbly laid the ball for Thorgan Hazard to slot home.

The Premier League winner with Manchester City then rifled in a superb left-footed strike from the edge of the box after being teed up by Eden Hazard at the end of a slick Red Devils move.
