- Italy made it two wins from two games with another 3-0 win
- Two goals from Locatelli and a goal from Ciro Immobile gave the Azzuri a comfortable win over Switzerland
Manuel Locatelli’s double and a goal from Ciro Immobile helped Italy beat Switzerland.
The Azzuri, unbeaten in 29 straight games, began brightly in the first half with Immobile having his headed effort go high in the 10th minute.
Juventus’ Girgio Chiellini put the ball in the net in the 18th minute, but a VAR review disallowed the goal for a handball against him.
The Italians would find the opener minutes later when Domenico Berardi lay the ball into Locatelli who put the ball into the net from close range.
Robert Mancini’s side doubled their lead in the 52nd minute when Locatelli brilliantly fired the ball past Swiss’ Yann Sommer and into the bottom corner.
The Italians would then seal the comprehensive win deep into the match when Immobile smashed home from 25 yards with Sommer parrying the effort into his net.
Italy take on Wales and a draw or win will assure them top spot in the group.
