Switzerland and Wales shared points as the match ended 1-1 in Baku Olympic Stadium.

Switzerland dominated the first half but struggled to find the opening goal against Wales.

Breel Embolo came into the second half spirited and had his efforts rewarded when he connected with Xherdan Shaqiri’s corner to head the ball and open the scoring.

The Swiss controlled the game but were not able to extend the lead as Wales gradually began creating chances.

Kieffer Moore pulled a goal back for Wales when he glanced in a header from Haris Seferovic’s cross.

The two sides pushed to find a winner with substitute Mario Gavranovic finding the net with a superb volley which would be ruled out for offside by a VAR review.

Wales will take on Turkey next while Switzerland will battle Italy who put three past Turkey on Friday night.
