USA beat Mexico 3-2 in extra time to lift the CONCACAF trophy.

The Americans came from behind twice to rally and get the win over their bitter rivals in a match that had the VAR award two penalties and disallow one goal.

The Mexicans got to a flying start, taking the lead after 68 seconds in the first half through Jesus Manuel Corona.

The lead would have been extended to two-nil in the 23rd minute when Hector Moreno found the net, but a VAR review would disallow the goal for offside.

The Americans drew level minutes later through Borussia Dortmund’s Giovanni Reyna.

Real Betis’ forward Diego Leyva put the Mexicans ahead in the 79th minute, before Juventus’ sensation Weston McKennie pulled the Americans level minutes later.

Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic went on a run into the Mexican’s penalty and was brought down and after a lengthy review by VAR, USA was awarded a penalty which the American skipper converted into the roof of the net.

Minutes later, Mexico would get a penalty awarded to them after a VAR review adjudged that the ball was handled in the area.

Substitute Andres Guardado stepped up to take the penalty which was brilliantly saved by substitute goalkeeper Ethan Horvath.
