Lufthansa, Germany’s largest airline will finally commence tourist flights to Mombasa on July 24, 2021.

The two weekly flight services between Frankfurt and Mombasa with onward flights to Zanzibar will be via its leisure carrier Eurowings Discover.

“As more countries begin to relax their travel restrictions, we are seeing an increased demand of people yearning to travel, relax and explore,” said Lufthansa General Manager for Southern and East Africa André Schulz.

The airline is confident it will expand the new service to a frequency of four times a week from June 2022.

“Along with this increased frequency, we are able to expand our destination portfolio, by adding a double weekly tag flight from Mombasa to Kilimanjaro, whilst continuing our double weekly tag flights from Mombasa to Zanzibar,” added Mr Schulz.
