Sudan booked their spot in this year’s African Cup of Nations tournament after beating South Africa 2-0.

The Falcons of Jediane shocked the world when they beat South Africa 2-0 in Khartoum on Sunday.

Goals from Saifeldin Bakhit and Mohamed Abdel Raman in the first half secured the win for Sudan who have not featured in the tournament since 2012.

Bakhit opened the scoring after three minutes before Abdel sealed the win in the 32nd minute when he added the second.

The loss means that Bafana Bafana will not be featuring in the tournament – having previously failed to qualify again back in 2012.

The Eastern African team becomes the 18th team to book a place in the finals that will be held in Cameroon.
