Gor Mahia suffers second league defeat to Kariobangi Sharks in a seven-goal thriller at Kasarani Stadium.
The Sharks stunned Gor Mahia, beating the reigning champions 4-3 at Kasarani on Sunday.
Eric Kapaito, Daniel Sakari and John Kuol scored Kariobangi Sharks’ goals while Gor Mahia’s were scored by Clifton Miheso, John Macharia and Joachim Oluoch.
The side from Eastland went ahead when Gor’s backline failed to clear the ball in the sixth minute and allowed Kapaito to take advantage and score the opener.
Gor earned an equaliser in the 12th minute when Miheso pounced on a loose ball and tapped home. The goal did not stand for long as Sakari curved in a strike that found the bottom corner for his second goal of the season.
Sharks extended the lead in the 36th minute when Kapaito lobed the ball over goalkeeper Mathews.
K’Ogalo, the better side in the second half, equalised in the 66th minute when Oluoch scored to punish a back-pedalling Kariobangi Sharks.
Kuol – after an outstanding performance at the back – got himself a slot in the 78th minute when his header found the back of the net to grab the three points for his side.
Elsewhere, a solitary goal was the difference as Kakamega Homeboyz lost to Tusker FC. Henry Meja scored the all-important goal in the 72nd minute to give the Brewers three vital points.
