Liverpool put seven goals past Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon as the Reds run riot.

The Reds began the rout in the third minute when Takumi Minamino opened the scoring with a clinical finish.

Sadio Mane doubled the lead with a sharp turn and strike before Roberto Firmino scored the third, rounding off a spectacular counter-attacking move started by the Brazilian.

Reds skipper Jordan Henderson curled in a beauty early on in the second-half as Jurgen Klopp’s side picked up from where they left in the first half.

Firmino got his second of the game after being played through by Mohammed Salah who had just got in from the bench.

Salah had been benched by Liverpool for their trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon after sending shockwaves around the club after refusing to rule out moves to Real Madrid or Barcelona in the future.

The Egypt international had to do with a starting spot on the bench at Selhurst Park but Klopp insisted before the game that he was only resting his key forward.

Salah would get on the scoring sheet with a close-range header from Joel Matip’s headed pass. The Egyptian would get his second and Liverpool’s seventh with a stunning left-footed strike into the top corner.

The result means the Reds go six points clear and will definitely be top of the Premier League table on Christmas Day.
