Real Madrid cut the gap to leaders Atletico Madrid after beating their city neighbours at the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium.

Atletico turned up with a six-point advantage over their neighbours and having conceded only two goals in ten games.

After an hour had been played they had conceded two more and were well beaten.

Midfielder Casemiro gave the hosts the lead when he rose highest to head home a corner from the right from Toni Kroos.
