Regional based insurance firm UAP Holdings on Friday said it has appointed Dr Catherine Adeya as a non-executive director on the company’s board of directors.

Dr Catherine Adeya serves as the Director of Research at the World Wide Web Foundation. She is an experienced leader and researcher in the technology and development industry.

Dr Adeya has more than 20 years of experience working in tech and research. In 2013, she became the first CEO of the Konza Technopolis Development Authority. She also worked as the Director of Business Process Outsourcing at the Ministry of ICT in Kenya. More recently, Catherine led the development of the East Africa Centre for Internet Governance and Policy (CIGAP) at Strathmore University.

Dr Catherine Adeya was part of the pioneering class of Information Sciences at Moi University in Kenya. In addition, she holds a degree from the Yale School of Management and a Ph.D. in Information and Development from Edinburgh Napier University.
