1000 boxing fans will be allowed to attend Anthony Joshua’s fight against Kubrat Pulev at the Wembley Arena.

The limited number of fans will be allowed to attend the heavyweight clash following the government’s directive that has seen a relaxation of the set health guidelines in the fight against the coronavirus.

AJ will be defending his IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO world titles against mandatory challenger Bulgarian Pulev on 12 December.

Joshua will be keen to successfully defend his titles as he awaits his unification heavyweight clash against Tyson Fury in 2021.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn expressed his delight at the decision to have fans present:

“I can’t tell you how happy I am to see fans returning to our live boxing events,”

“Whilst the team have done an incredible job over the last 10 months we live and breathe through the energy and atmosphere that a live crowd generates.

“It’s so fitting that they can return for an AJ fight, when through the last few years he has broken all kinds of attendance records in the UK and beyond. This is such a positive move for boxing and all sport. Welcome back!”
