Manchester City return to winning ways with 5-0 win over Burnley at the Etihad Stadium.

Rihad Mahrez grabbed his first hat-trick in five years as City put five goals past Burnley.

The Algerian opened the scoring in the sixth minute after being released through by Kevin De Bruyne.

Mahrez would soon double the lead in the 21st minute as Burnley’s line of defense continue to crumble to City’s pressure.

It was a perfect evening for Pep Guardiola’s who suffered a terrible 2-0 loss last weekend to his nemesis, Jose Mourinho.

A perfect response from the Citizens who now eighth on the table with 15 points from nine matches.

Benjamin Mendy would make it 3-0 just before the half-time break as City continued to attack Burnley who were missing Nick Pope, and in his place was Bailey Peacock-Farell who endured a nightmare on his debut for the club.

Ferran Torres continued his impressive start to life in the Premier League with a goal in the 65th minute, before Mahrez sealed the rout with his third goal of the evening.
