Francis Kimanzi has been appointed as the new Wazito FC Coach.
The former Harambee Stars head coach has joined the Kenya Premier League side on a four-year deal.
Kimanzi was last month relieved off his duties as the country’s coach and was replaced by Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee as the country hopes to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon next year.
Speaking during the unveiling, Wazito FC Sporting Director Stephen Ochiel said:
‘We have appointed Francis Kimanzi as our new coach on a four year contract and he will be assisted by John Kamau who is also an experienced coach.’
The experienced tactician who has previously been in charge of Mathare United, Tusker FC and Sofapaka will be assisted by former Kenya U20, Thika United, Posta Rangers, KCB FC and FC Talanta coach John Kamau.
Kimanzi will take the reins at the club from former coach Fred Ambani and his assistant Salim Babu who were axed earlier in the month.
The experienced tactician becomes the seventh coach to join Wazito in one year after Ambani, British coach Stewart Hall, Harambee Stars Under-20 coach Stanley Okumbi, Fred Ouna, Hamisi Abdalla and Egyptian- American Melis Medo.
