Cristiano Ronaldo announces return with two goals as Juventus beat Spezia 4-1.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice on his return to the Juventus side on Sunday having contracted Covid-19 last month, scoring three minutes after coming on as a substitute before converting a penalty to lead Andrea Pirlo’s men to a 4-1 Serie A win at Spezia.
The Serie A champions, pegged back at 1-1 when the 35-year-old entered the fray, scored three times in 20 minutes after his arrival as they went second in the table.
Alvaro Morata and Adrien Rabiot were also on target as Pirlo’s side bounced back after drawing their previous three Serie A matches – not including the 3-0 walkover they were awarded against Napoli.
Spezia, enjoying their first season in Serie A, started the second half strongly but it all changed when Ronaldo came on.
The win puts Juve on 12 points after six games, four behind leaders AC Milan, while Spezia are 16th, two points above the relegation zone.
