Lewis Hamilton wins Emilia Romagna GP.

Lewis Hamilton registered his 93rd career win at Emilia Romagna Grand Prix and inch closer to his seventh world title.

With Hamilton and Valterri Bottas finishing 1-2 in Italy, Mercedes won a record 7th constructors title.

Mercedes are well ahead of the chasing pack with 435 points, 209 more than 2nd-placed Red Bull. Ferrari, meanwhile, are languishing at the 5th spot of the constructors’ charts in the 2020 season that has been cut short by the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Despite all the changes, Lewis Hamilton’s dominance has been a constant in the F1 2020 season. Hamilton can equal legendary Michael Schumacher’s tally of 7 Championship titles in Turkey later this month.

With the win on Sunday, Lewis Hamiton, with 282 points, extended his lead over teammate and 2nd-placed Valtteri Bottas to 85 points.

Speaking after the milestone win, Hamilton said:

“What an incredible achievement for all of you. I am so proud of everybody and I am so grateful to be a part of it,”

“People watching maybe think we’re used to this but it always feels like the first with this team and I think that’s because of the spirit,”

“It’s unbelievable… seven-times champs. That’s something I’m going to be able to tell my grandchildren one day.”
