Liverpool welcome back Sadio Mane and Thiago Alcantara after recovering from coronavirus.

Jurgen Klopp has been handed a major boost ahead of the side’s Merseyside derby with league leaders Everton with Sadio Mane, Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip all returning to training.

Mane and Thiago were both forced to self-isolate after testing positive for coronavirus while Matip has missed the last three league games with a muscle injury.

But the trio were back at Melwood on Tuesday and the timing couldn’t be better for Klopp, who faced an unbeaten Everton side on Saturday.

The Toffees have won all of their four league games and currently sit top of the Premier League table.

All three players could be thrown straight back into the action with the Reds looking to recover from their 7-2 thrashing by Aston Villa before the international break.

Summer signing Thiago missed matches against Arsenal and Villa with Mane also missing the latter match as they followed the strict rules and guidelines.

Klopp is likely to be without Naby Keita who tested positive for Covid-19 while on international duty with Guinea.
