Tyson Fury states that the trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder will not happen.
Tyson Fury has insisted that he was fed up and thus confirmed that his trilogy fight with Wilder will not happen.
A report on Saturday indicated that the proposed rematch bout that had been proposed for December had been scrapped.
The Gypsy King on Monday confirmed that while he was committed on having the fight with the Bronze Bomber, he was not willing to be messed around in making it happen.
Speaking to The Athletic, Fury said:
‘I was looking forward to smashing Wilder again. A quick and easy fight,’
‘But Wilder and his team were messing around with the date. They don’t really want to fight the lineal heavyweight champion.
‘They know how it ends. The world knows how it will end: with Wilder on his ass again.
‘Then they asked me if I would agree to push it to December. I agreed to December 19. Then they tried to change the date again into next year. I’ve been training. I’m ready. When they tried moving off December 19 and pushing to next year, enough was enough. I’ve moved on.’
The report now hastens the blockbuster clash between Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Fury may have a different defence of the WBC title while Joshua defends his WBA, IBF and WBO titles against mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev on December 12.
