Chelsea bounce back to thrash Crystal Palace 4-0.

Chelsea got back to winning ways with a dominant win over London rivals Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.

A loss to Liverpool, a draw at West Brom and a cup defeat to Tottenham had many questioning the side’s huge investment in the summer, but Frank Lampard responded in style with a comprehensive win.

Ben Chilwell was the man of the day as he grabbed an assist, an outstanding debut goal and remained a threat against the Eagles throughout the afternoon.

Chilwell’s goal came in the 50th minute. Mamadou Sakho bodged his clearance and Hudson-Odoi pounced to touch the ball to Azpilicueta.

His deflected cross was only half-heartedly headed away by Cheikhou Kouyaté and fell for Chilwell. On the half volley, he hit the ball with such power Vicente Guiata barely had a chance to react.

Chilwell would turn creator in the 66th minute when he delivered a cross that got to Zouma who headed home for the second.

Jorginho would get his first penalty goal when Tyrick Mitchell bundled over Abraham in the box to concede the penalty.

In the 81st minute, Sakho would bring down Kai Havertz in the box for the second penalty. There was a brief tussle for the penalty-taking rights, Abraham wanting to assume the mantle before captain Azpilicueta intervened and Jorginho was restored to his rightful place.

He rolled the ball to the right again to complete a comfortable win.
