Arsenal’s Joe Willock converts crucial penalty to beat Liverpool on penalties.

The Gunners put their disappointing visit to Anfield on Monday on the side as they beat Liverpool on penalties in the League Cup.

Arsenal suffered a 3-1 loss on Monday to Liverpool and looked to make amends to that with a visit to the champions in the Carabao Cup.

Both Mikel Arteta and Jurgen Klopp made changes to their sides with the Reds giving Diogo Jota his full debut after his cameo exploits on Monday.

Liverpool started brightly and should have gone ahead in the opening minutes as the visitors struggled to find their footing in the match.

The North London outfit would then find their rhythm but were still unproductive in the final third which further underlined the need for the side bringing in reinforcements in the midfield.

Takumi Minamino paired with Mohammed Salah as they sought to rattle the defensive partnership of Gabriel and Rob Holding.

The match ended goalless and proceeded to penalties.

James Milner scored the first penalty for Liverpool before Alexandre Lacazette equalized.

Mohammed Elneny, Divock Origi and Harry Wilson would have their efforts stopped before Willock scored the winner.
