Heung-Min Son scores four as Tottenham thrash Southampton 5-1.

Tottenham bounced back from last weekend’s 1-0 loss to Everton with a 5-1 thrashing of the Saints.

Danny Ings opened the scoring for the hosts in the first half as the hosts controlled the match, creating chances with ease.

Son would pull one goal back deep into the first-half stoppage time, beating the offside trap to slot the ball into the net.

The Saints’ high-line of defending would be their own undoing in the second half as Jose Mourinho’s side raided the side on the counter.

Son got his second two minutes into the second half before getting his third seven minutes later.

The Korean would then grab his fourth of the day after being released inside the box by a superb lofted pass from Harry Kane.

Kane would open his account of the season in the 82nd minute when he slotted the ball into an unguarded net.

Ings would pull one goal back for the hosts from the penalty spot in stoppage time.

The result propels Tottenham to the fifth position while Southampton drops to 19th in the league.

Tottenham travels to Leyton Orient in the EFL Cup on Tuesday as Southampton will be looking to amend their mistakes when they travel to Burnley next weekend.
