Arsenal agree deal with Dijon for goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson.
The Gunners are closing on signing a new goalkeeper after the club agreed a £1.6million fee with French club Dijon for Runar Alex Runarsson.
The North London club went in seek for a back-up goalkeeper after Emiliano Martinez left the club for Aston Villa.
Runarsson, who had made 36 Ligue 1 appearances for his club in which he conceded 61 times, is due at the Emirates Stadium for a medical on Thursday, ahead of completing the switch.
Arsenal had been linked with Brentford’s David Raya, who worked under goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana in west London before the Spaniard departed to join Arteta’s backroom staff.
It is believed that Runarsson is another goalkeeper who Cana had been keeping tabs on, with reported interest from the Bees not leading to a deal to sign the former FC Nordsjaelland player.
