PULA has appointed  Cedric Todwell, a Kenyan, as a new commercial manager for government, financials, and energy in Africa.

He brings on board a vast experience in building partnerships in the renewable energy sector.

PULA is a leading Agricultural technology that develops and deploys crops and livestock insurance. 

The organization uses insurance and digital products to help smallholder farmers endure climate risks, improve their farming practices and bolster their income. It has helped 3.4 million farmers in 11 countries, both in Africa and Asia. 

PULA has achieved this through partnerships with governments, seed/fertilizer companies, loan providers to bundle insurance with farm inputs or loans.

Cedric previously worked with Sistema.bio as a global commercial director where he helped scale Sistema to be a leading biogas company in Africa, serving over 10,000 farmers.

“In my new role I will be responsible for scaling Agricultural Insurance across Africa,” said Cedric.

In 2018, the social entrepreneur Cedric Todwell was among top 40 under 40. 

He has won several awards, for instance in 2018 he received the Change Makers award during the 100 change Makers awards gala dinner in Johannesburg, for championing for affordable clean energy in Africa.

Before joining Sistema, he worked with a German-based off-grid solar firm Mobisol as head of marketing.
