Chelsea close to sealing deal for Kai Havertz.
The Blues have been repeatedly linked with a move for the young talent from Leverkusen and are set to land him.
Reports indicate that Chelsea will seal a club record £90million deal for the 21-year old.
Negotiations between the two clubs have been ongoing for several weeks but took a significant step forward over the past 48 hours with officials verbally agreeing a £90m total fee.
Chelsea will pay a guaranteed £71.8m to Leverkusen, with the rest made up of performance-related bonuses.
Formally agreeing personal terms is unlikely to be an issue, with Havertz set to earn a minimum of £130,000-a-week on a five-year-deal.
Havertz has been sensational since making his debut with the team during the 2016/17 campaign.
Havertz has scored 17 goals in all competitions for Leverkusen, and helped the side advance to the Europa League quarter finals with a 4-1 aggregate win over Rangers on Thursday.
His versatility and willingness to play across a number of forward positions only adds to his value, with Leverkusen chief Rudi Voller describing him as a mixture of Michael Ballack and Mesut Ozil.
