Tottenham set to sign Joe Hart on free transfer

Joe Hart agree to join Tottenham on a free transfer.

The former England international is set to join the North London side on a free transfer.

Hart left Burnley at the end of last season and has been training intensively on his own.

He is to join Jose Mourinho’s side on a two-year contract on Tuesday to help the side solve their homegrown quota.

The former England international has agreed to join Tottenham on a two-year deal after leaving Burnley this summer

Tottenham want to increase competition for Lloris, who has endured injuries and lapses in form over recent seasons, and a free transfer such as Hart works for Mourinho under a restricted budget.

Hart has 75 England caps and made 24 appearances for Burnley.

The former Manchester City star faces a cut on the £50,000-a-week wages he was on at Turf Moor, with Spurs unlikely to match that figure.

Mourinho has been on the lookout for a back-up goalkeeper following the departure of Michel Vorm earlier this summer.

He has now decided to bring in Hart, who is looking for a fresh challenge following an underwhelming spell at Burnley.

The ex-England No 1 joined the Clarets on a permanent deal in 2018 following loan spells at Torino and West Ham from Manchester City.

But after failing to establish himself as Sean Dyche’s first-choice goalkeeper, he was deemed surplus to requirements at the end of last season.

The transfer is set to be completed on Tuesday as Mourinho prepares his first full season as manager for the North London outfit.
