Manchester City looking to sign Valencia’s winger Ferran Torres.
Pep Guardiola’s side are close to signing Valencia winger Ferran Torres for a fee of around £20.86millon plus bonuses.
The 20-year old is said to have agreed personal terms with City over a five-year contract.
The two clubs have yet to agree on a fee but are said to be close. Valencia wanted £40m for Torres and reports in Spain have suggested it would be £27.2m, but it’s understood that the initial fee will be substantially less.
Torres is in the final year of his contract at the Mestalla which has enabled City to sign one of Europe’s most promising young wingers for a relatively modest price. The opportunity to work with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad was said to be one of the reasons behind his decision.
Valencia have an interest in City midfielder Yangel Herrera, who has been on loan at their rivals Granada, but would prefer to keep the two deals separate.
City are also in the market for a centre-back and are waiting to see if Bournemouth’s valuation of Nathan Ake has changed now they have dropped out of the Premier League, having made an initial approach for the 25-year-old Dutchman.
City will look to offload Nicolas Otamendi amid interest in the Argentine from Real Betis, while John Stones’s future at the Etihad is also in doubt.
