Pep Guardiola is planning a revolution at Manchester City after Champions League reprieve.
The City Boss is said to be ready to commit to a long-term contract at City after UEFA lifted a two-year ban slapped on them back in February by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The Court of Arbitration for Sports ruled that City had breached club licensing and financial fair play regulations.
The decision means that City will feature in European competition and with this, the Spaniard is said to be planning to revitalize his squad.
The Spaniard is looking to wrestle back the title from this season’s Premier League winners Liverpool. City surrendered the title to Liverpool who launched an impressive campaign this season.
Key on his plans will be finding a replacement to David Silva who is set to leave at the end of the season. The 34-year old creative playmaker is set to leave City this summer after leading the side to four Premier League titles, five EFL Cups and two FA Cups – the first of which in 2011 ended City’s 35-year trophy drought.
Phil Foden has been fronted as the ideal replacement to the Spaniard though it will take much effort to fit in the diminutive World Cup winner.
Key to City’s future will be in the shoulders of Kevin De Bruyne.
The Belgian is a decent candidate for the Player of the Year honours. He has had another breathtaking season and watching him find space and angles in tandem with Foden in recent games has been to enjoy a small glimpse into what City’s future may look like.
Defence will be another area of concern for City.
A new central defender is a necessity. City have conceded at a rate of a goal a game over the course of the season and that is too many. They also need a left back and, at some point, another centre forward to replace Aguero, now 32.
And with the appeal upheld, Guardiola will be looking to renew his stellar career next season.
