Ramos converts from the spot to send Madrid FOUR points clear of Barcelona

Real Madrid pip Getafe 1-0 to go four points clear at the top of the table.
A Sergio Ramos penalty in the 79th minute gave Real Madrid a much wanted win over Getafe to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Zinedine Zidane’s side appeared to be heading to a draw that would have dented their hunt for a league title.
Getafe appeared to be have gotten a much deserved point but had their hopes crashed when the referee pointed to the spot.
Madrid were awarded a penalty when Madrid’s rightback Dani Carvajal was fouled by Getafe’s Mathias Olivera.
Ramos would then roll the ball into the net as Getafe’s goalkeeper Soria appeared to be undecided to which he would dive to.
La Liga officials have been on the spot for awarding dubious penalties with players going down untouched or even forwards fouling defenders but still winning penalties.
This one was however beyond dispute as Carvajal’s bursting run had wrong-footed Mathías Olivera and he chopped down the Spain defender.
Ramos converted his 20th penalty for club and country with confidence and performed the Cristiano Ronaldo style celebration to give Madrid the much needed points.
Real Madrid lost Raphael Varane after half an hour when the ball hit him leaving him dazed. Eder Militao came on for the Frenchman and immediately they looked shakier as the sub was booked for his first challenge.
Ramos had his work cut out keeping Getafe at bay and he was booked for a foul on Jaime Mata.
Madrid face Athletic Bilbao next and their penultimate game is against Santi Cazorla’s Villarreal, who are currently flying up in fifth. But with only five matches left to play they can almost reach out and touch the title.
