Arsenal extend their two match wins with a convincing win over struggling Norwich City.
Mikel Arteta’s side put in a spirited and convincing performance against Daniel Farke’s side to revive their push for European football next season.
The Gunners went ahead through Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in the 33rd minute when he robbed the ball from Tim Krul who had attempted a Cruyff-turn, before putting the ball into an unguarded net.
Granit Xhaka doubled the lead four minutes later when he received a cutback from Aubameyang and the Swiss easily buried the ball into the net.
In the second half, the Canaries began bright and had a penalty ruled off by VAR.
Todd Cantwell went down in the penalty box and referree Peter Babies waved on for play to continue.
He would then halt play for a review of the penalty claim by Norwich players. A few minutes later, the decision would stand, no penalty.
Aubameyang would get his second goal of the night when another error by Krul would see the Gabonese international gifted a chance to roll the ball into the net.
Substitute Cedric Soares would get a debut goal with a fantastic strike that must have shocked him too.
The result sent the Gunners to seventh with 46 points, six behind sixth placed Wolves to whom they travel to on Saturday.
