Juventus go 7 points clear with win over Leece

Juventus extended their lead at the top of the table with a 4-0 rout over Leece.

Juventus capitalized on Lazio’s loss at Atalanta to extend their lead at the top of the Serie A.

With less than ten fixtures to go, Juventus sit at the summit of the table with 69 points, seven clear of Lazio who sunk to an amazing comeback from Atalanta to lose 3-2.

Leece went down to 10 men when Fabio Lucioni was given marching orders for a clumsy challenge in the 32nd minute.

Juventus capitalized on the decision and went ahead in the 53rd minute when Paulo Dybala opened the scoring.

Cristiano Ronaldo pulled the ball back to the box for the Argentine to open the scoring with a superb shot into the top right corner.

Ronaldo won a penalty nine minutes later and doubled the lead from the spot with a fierce shot into the middle of the goal.

The Portuguese turned creator in the 83rd minute when a clever backheel from him set up substitute Higuain to score his sixth goal of the season.

Former Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt added the fourth with a close-range header from Douglas Costa’s cross to complete the rout.

Juventus are chasing a ninth successive Italian title and sit at the summit with 69 points, seven clear of second placed Lazio who have a match in hand.

Lecce remained third bottom on 25 points, behind Genoa on goal difference and one point adrift of Sampdoria in 16th spot.
