- The Arsenal young midfielder grabbed Brighton’s striker by the throat
- FA has cleared the midfielder of any action
- Mental Health and Psychosocial considerations during the COVID-19 pandemic
Arsenal’s Matteo Guendouzi has escaped punishment from FA.
Matteo Guendouzi will face no further punishment from the Football Association for his actions during the Gunners loss to Brighton on Saturday.
Guendouzi grabbed Neal Maupay by the throat after the fulltime whistle.
The FA confirmed that Guendouzi’s actions were not seen by match officials including referee Martin Atkinson, but the incident was subsequently reviewed by VAR, who decided not to take action.
The decision means that the young midfielder is available for Mikel Arteta’s selection in Thurday’s trip to Southampton before a trip to Sheffield United for FA Cup.

The FA have confirmed that both Brighton and Arsenal have also been warned and reminded of their responsibilities following the late confrontation between their players in the Premier League clash.
Arsenal players were incensed by Maupay after he jumped into Bernd Leno just before the keeper fell awkwardly causing him to suffer a serious knee injury.
Arsenal are assessing their first choice goalkeeper but the club fear he is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines with ligament and cartilage damage to his right knee.
