UFC: Dana White hits back at Jon Jones and Jorge Masvidal

UFC President Dana White has hit back at Jon Jones and Jorge Masvidal in a pay row.

Dana White has hit back at the two fighters in a row that continues to grow by the day.

Jones took to twitter to express his dissatisfaction with the treatment that he was receiving at UFC citing that White had refused to give him a ‘bigger pay-day’ that he deserves.

White has remained adamant that Jones was ‘asking too much’ and insisting ‘these guys (the fighters) both got brand new deals that they were more than happy to sign less than a year ago’.

Jon Jones took to twitter on Monday and labelled White ‘stubborn and greedy’

The UFC president has faced mounting criticism from two of his star fighters over their pay-packets, as well as overall UFC salary concerns in terms of the percentage revenue given out to its performers, compared to other American sports leagues.

Masvidal asked to be released from his contract so he could look for a better deal elsewhere

Speaking to ESPN’s First Take, White said:

“Jon Jones just signed a new deal less than a year ago,’ White explained. ‘He’s got eight fights left on his deal. What do you want me to tell you? The guy’s got a deal. Same thing with Masvidal. He just signed a new deal seven months ago. These guys both got brand new deals that they were more than happy to sign less than a year ago.”

“Does anybody feel like they make too much money? Nobody does. If we were talking about a thing where these guys had old contracts from three years ago and it’s like “that was three years ago that I did this deal, let’s [renegotiate].”
