Odion Ighalo has agreed to extend his loan spell at Manchester United until January 2021.
Ighalo joined United in January for a loan spell that was set to end in June.
Negotiations between the club and United began and have culminated in the forward agreeing an extension.
The former Watford forward left Shanghai Shenua in January and joined the Red Devils on a six month loan deal that was to end on May 31.
The 30-year old Nigerian has featured in several games, coming in as a substitute in several games. He has scored four times in eight appearances.
With the deal reportedly going through, the Nigeria international will miss a large chunk of the new Chinese Super League season, which is due to start in July.
Ighalo initially joined Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United in a shock deadline-day move in January after the club had missed out on signing Norwegian star Erling Haaland to Borussia Dortmund.
Ighalo’s current contract in China expires in December 2022, but Shanghai reportedly want to keep him until at least December 2024.
