Arsenal has offered Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a contract extension in an attempt to tie down the forward.

Aubameyang is approaching the last year on his current deal and is yet to agree to a new contract.

The lethal forward has been on scintillating form this season, scoring twenty goals in all competitions, 17 in the Premier League – two behind top goalscorer Jamie Vardy.

Reports indicate that the forward wants Champions League football and with Arsenal sitting ninth in the league, the Gabonese striker has been hesitant to extend his stay at the North-London outfit.

The club is making moves to tie down their prized asset, who shared the Premier League golden boot last season alongside Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.

They want to put a stop to a protracted transfer saga and secure Aubameyang’s future as painlessly as possible.

Reports in the Le10Sport indicate that PSG are determined to sign the forward, and believe a fee between £36million and £45m could be enough to persuade Arsenal to cash in rather than risk losing Aubameyang for nothing in the summer of 2021.

Aubameyang joined Arsenal in 2018 and has scored a phenomenal 61 goals in just 97 games.

Manchester United, Inter Milan and Barcelona are all keeping tabs on the forward.
