UFC Lightweight Champion Jon Jones demands to be ‘RELEASED’

UFC Lightweight Champion Jon Jones has threatened to leave UFC and move to boxing following a row with UFC President Dana White over money.

Jon Jones and Dana White have continued their row over the Champion’s financial demands in his next fight.

Jones is said to be seeking a fight in heavyweight divisions with Fancis Ngannou. The negotiations to have the fight are said to have broken down when Jones demanded for more money than UFC could offer him.

UFC President alleges that Jones demanded for $30 million for the fight, a figure that the UFC called ‘absurd’ and too much.

White has claimed that ‘Bones’ does not warrant the money he is asking for to compete

This led to a twitter tirade by the fighter who claimed that he make a switch to boxing as well as stating that the assertion made by White was a lie.

Jones – who had a conversation with White’s lawyer Hunter Campbell over a fee to move to heavyweight – slammed the promoter for bringing up his troubled past outside the Octagon.

Many have since questioned why White cannot pay Jones the money he wants, with the UFC president having called him the ‘greatest of all time’.

But White hit back, claiming talent alone does not earn the money for a fight and that his draw numbers and personal conduct outside the octagon have not helped his cause.

Being the greatest of all time does not mean he will get $30 million [£24million],’ White said. ‘[It’s] being able to sell. In one of his Tweets he said I tarnished him [his image]. I tarnished you?! You’ve done a very good job of tarnishing [yourself]. I haven’t done that.

Jones had been hoping to step up to heavyweight and take on Francis Ngannou
