The induction of Kobe Bryant into the Basketball Hall of Fame may be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
As reported by the Boston Globe, the induction of the Basketball legend may be pushed a little longer.
Kobe Bryant died in a tragic helicopter crash alongside his 13-year old daughter Gianna and seven other people in January this year.
Bryant was to be inducted posthumously into the Basketball Hall of Fame in August. However, the coronavirus pandemic may cause a delay in this.
According to Basketball Hall of Fame CEO John Delova, a number of variables are being considered to determine whether the event will be held.
‘We want to have all that information by month’s end and decide what our action plan is going to be. It’s a wonderful three-day event for us, but it’s in a little in flux because of the coronavirus.’
Bryant is regarded as one of the greatest stars in the game having spent 20 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers and won five NBA championships.
He was the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in 2007-08, a 15-time All-NBA selection, 18-time All-Star and 12-time All-Defensive team member.
He was named MVP of the NBA Finals twice and was the All-Star Game MVP four times.
