UFC fighter Mike Perry drops trainers and coaches for Girlfriend

- He vows to only have his girlfriend in his corner for next fights
- Mental Health and Psychosocial considerations during the COVID-19 Pandemic
UFC fighter Mike Perry announces that he will no longer use the services and guidance of his coaches and trainers and will only rely on his girlfriend.
The fighter informed that he will only have his girlfriend and a friend in his corner for his upcoming fights in the octagon.
The 28-year old has been on a poor run of form, losing five of his last seven bouts, which made the fighter feel that his corner was at fault.
Speaking to MMA Junkie, Perry said:
My girlfriend, just her. If not, her and her friend. I’m not listening to any coaches right now. Coaches who are saying things that they ain’t gonna go in there and do. They want it to be this way or this way, and like it’s a totally different way.

The American has won only two in his last seven fights. He further dismissed the role of those in a fighter’s corner during bouts.
‘All I need the corner for is to pass me the bottle of water, wipe my head off or put the ice on my neck when I get hot coming in between the rounds,’ he added.
Perry is likely to face UFC rival Darren Till in his next fight. The two have sparred in the past and are likely to square off in a future bout on ‘Fight Island’, the mysterious location where UFC President Dana White hopes to host his future events.
