Vinicius Junior has said that Real Madrid will chase the league title and win it for their fans when the season resumes.

Barcelona sits at the top of the table with 58 points, two points ahead of Real Madrid with 56 points.

The 19-year old Brazilian believes that his team will trounce Barcelona from the summit and win the league title.

Having beaten Barcelona at home and drawn at the Nou Camp this term, the forward reflected on the games and believes Madrid are the better team out of the title rivals and that he is now desperate to claim the league title for the club’s supporters in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak.

The Brazilian believes that Real Madrid will not fail in trying to win the league title

Speaking to Marca, the forward said:

“I’ve watched the games again and I think so. I think we were better than them in more aspects. We’ve had very good games until now and we have to recover our best form. We’re really hungry to come back, to win, and we want to win this league title for our fans. People have suffered a lot and we want to give Real Madrid fans something to cheer about in this situation.”

Vinicius also sent a warning to Manchester City, claiming that their last-16 Champions League tie is not over.

City leads the tie 2-1 after an excellent first leg showing at the Bernabeu but Vinicius claims Madrid will be well prepared to overturn the deficit once the competition resumes.

‘The result of the first leg [against Manchester City] was bad, but we’re Real Madrid,’ the Brazilian forward added.

‘Our obligation is to prepare ourselves well and, if this game comes, when everything is over, every Real Madrid fan can say: they gave everything, we’re proud.’
