Kenyan Doctor Nyachira Muthiga is set to be honored for her exemplary work in the fight against Covid -19 in the country.
She is among this year’s Kotex ‘She Can’ women Honorees, including Environmentalist Liz Mazingira, Publicist Anyiko Owoko and Visually impaired persons ambassador Crystal Asige who will be celebrated in the 2020 Kotex She Can Awards.
The Kotex 2020 She Can Awards will focus on honoring Women who are at the frontline in the fight against Covid- 19.
The awards which are the highlights of the #PeriodOrNotSheCan’ campaign seeks to engage young women directly, inspiring them to break barriers that stand in the way of their success and progress.

Commenting about the award, Dr Nyachira who is currently a Medical Officer at Mbagathi District Hospital in Nairobi and a Medical Advisor to the University of Nairobi’s Science and Technology Park said, “I am humbled to be nominated and appreciate the recognition for all front-liners who have demonstrated courage in rising up to serve their communities despite Covid-19.”
In line with the campaign theme of ‘Championing Her Progress’, the #PeriodOrNotSheCan campaign kicked off in May when the world marked milestones made towards women’s menstrual wellness and reproductive health.
