Mohamed Said Karama has been appointed Britam Holdings Plc deputy chairman of the board effective May 12. 

Karama was appointed as an independent non-executive director of Britam Holdings Plc board of directors on April 27, 2017. 

He was also a member of the investments and strategy committee and the audit committee. 

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland and is a certified public accountant and a certified government financial manager with consulting skills, project management experience and knowledge of the public sector, financial services and healthcare industries. 

He has been a partner at PriceWaterhouse Coopers, leading advisory services both in Kenya and in the US. He has over 20 years of global experience in both developed and emerging markets. 

Karama is also a director of Britam Life Assurance Company (Kenya) Ltd, a subsidiary of Britam Holdings Plc.
