‘Fury Vs AJ could happen sooner,’ claims Bob Arum

A clash between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury could happen sooner than expected claims Promoter Bob Arum.
Fury is scheduled to take on Deontay Wilder again in Las Vegas later this year after Wilder triggered his rematch clause.
However, with the current travel restrictions imposed that include US-UK travel ban due to the coronavirus pandemic, an opportunity could present itself to see Fury take on AJ.
Joshua was set to defend his title against Kubrat Pulev in June at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but the fight was postponed.
A huge Battle of Britain between Fury and Joshua had been expected to take place at some point in 2021, but Arum admits that ‘everything is possible’ in such uncertain times.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the legendary Promoter said:
With or without audiences, we can’t do [the third fight] while Fury can’t get back into the United States due to the travel ban. Wilder couldn’t get into England either.
The ‘vacuum’ thus presents a possibility to have the much awaited and heavily anticipated fight.
Earlier this month, Joshua, who holds the IBF, WBA and WBO belts, called out his British compatriot for a fight to crown a Unified Heavyweight Champion.
Should the fight happen, the victor will be the first unified champion of the division since Lennox Lewis.
